One of the suitcases filled with medical supplies. Medical bridges gave us well over 200 lbs worth of stuff, for which we are very grateful but which we can't transport. The weight limit of each bag on the airlines is 50 lbs and each traveler gets two bags. I packed really light and managed to squeeze all my stuff into my carry on (I packed really light) so we have three suitcases full of supplies. They gave us so much stuff that I had to go through and filter out some of the stuff that I thought would be impractical in a rural clinic (like lumbar puncture kits, etc.)

That's so unfortunate that the supplies couldn't be shipped there. If you find some way that those of us not in Africa could ship it to you now that you are in Africa, be sure to let us know because we'll make it happen.
